Introduction

The Mesh Editor is probably one of the most frequently used, and most feature rich editors in Serious Editor 2, besides perhaps the World Editor. If you're looking forward to mapping or modelling with Serious Editor 2, look no further. On this page you will find all the information you'll need to give you a head start with the Mesh Editor in Serious Editor 2!

To give you an idea of how you can use the Mesh Editor, I'll explain what it can do. To put it really simple, meshes are simply models created in Serious Editor 2. But these don't just include decorative models. The Mesh Editor can be used to create Terrains, Props, Enemies, vehicles, etc. But that's not all. In the Mesh Editor you can not only model, you can also assign shaders, uvmaps, LOD's, weightmaps and so forth, to an existing or new mesh. The tools at your disposal are amazing. They range from uvmapping tools that make your life a lot easier, to painting tools with which you can paint grass, sand and even crumbs on your terrains.

To conclude this all, I can just tell you one thing: Take your time in learning this editor. It is entirely different from Serious Editor 1, the tool that probably matches the Mesh Editor most, is Lightwave 3D, but don't worry. It may take some time for you to get used to this editor, even if you've worked with other editors before, including Serious Editor 1 and Lightwave 3D. But in the end it's all worth it. What you see in front of you when you first start up Serious Editor 2, is a very versatile editor, which can be used to make your wildest dreams a reality!
