2002 - Serious File System Launches - After being developed in secret, Seriously! unveiled a brand new file system designed to allow users to download each and every file on the site from their choice of a variety of mirrors. The original design was partly inspired by the previously-required FilePlanet's new method of requiring users to wait in line beore downloading a file, and the initial system had three full-time mirrors located around the globe to provide instant, queue-free file downloads, in addition to FilePlanet. This, coupled with the release of the 1.07 patch a month later, is considered to be the primary catalyst of Seriously! becoming an independently owned and operated website. Currently the file system has a minimum of five different global mirrors for each of over 700 files, and has served nearly two and a half million (2,400,000) downloads since its launch.
